Speaker Series- Night 2

The speaker series is for anyone who is curious & wants to learn more about meditation.

On night 2 we have:

Mark Lau: a registered clinical psychologist in private practice at the Vancouver CBT Centre and a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Lau has 20 years experience providing MBCT (Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy) and CBT services in individual and group formats to treat anxiety and depression; conducting MBCT and CBT research; providing leadership in MBCT and CBT training and education; and, in developing models of mental health care delivery including new ways of delivering MBCT & CBT.  He is an Associate Editor of the journal Mindfulness

Peder Sande: An intrepid member of the learning & development team at lululemon athletica, he is obsessed with improving people's lives, particularly within an organizational context. This cross legged yogi has lectured at Stanford's d.school on designing calm within the workplace. He is completing his MSc in Contemplative Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia and the Sauder School of Business. His latest research interests are on the role of yoga and meditation in fostering creativity within employees.

Bernie Geiss: a businessman, meditation practitioner, teacher and designated Meditation Master. Prior to his professional career, Bernie travelled extensively studying meditation, martial arts and yoga. He travelled around the world several times with extended stays in New Zealand, Australia, Thailand and India where he lived as a homeless traveler, a Buddhist monk and resident Yogi. Bernie has developed a unique multi facetted perspective of eastern philosophy and meditation through his in deep experiences with Vedant Hinduism and Theravedan Buddhism. He has taught meditation both privately and to groups for more than 30 years and currently lives in North Vancouver Canada with his wife and three children.
