We get it, dark days and long nights are kind of a bummer... which is why we've enlisted some help from professionals. Throughout November, we'll provide tips from experts in their fields. Today, we have psychic & intuitive Natalie Miles on deck:
It can be overwhelming right now as we’re being encouraged to share the best bits of our lives all across social media, Instagram stories and Facebook posts. We’re being conditioned to only show the “good” bits and not share the vulnerable emotions, the struggles and our shadow side. We’re being encouraged to be “light workers” but there’s a lot of spiritual bypassing and light washing happening. Smiles all round. Everything is perfect. Always in the light.
But the reality is that we are all riding the waves of emotions, from fear, anxiety and being overwhelmed.
As the seasons change and we head into the winter months these feelings can heighten as the days are shorter, and the darkness seems to be more prevalent than the light. Our shadow side can come out to play more.
Due to this current light washing we’re not being encouraged to work with our shadow sides. To embrace it and work out how we can learn from it. For me, working with my Intuition and Spirit Guides has helped me embrace the darkness, especially when I’ve been at my most low. I’ve had times where I’ve closed off my connection to Spirit. I’ve had painful breakups, mounting stress, unfulfilling jobs with difficult questions. I’ve felt disempowered with a need to gain more control of my life. I’ve felt unsure, indecisive, and hungry for a deeper connection with myself and those around me. And each and every time I felt lost, Spirit has guided the way.
We all have a cheerleader team in Spirit- our Spirit Guides who are here to help us work through the darkness. And when we learn to work with them we feel clear, confident and connected. They give us signs and messages to help us.
Here are some quick tips to get connected
- Take 5-10 mins every morning to connect with your Guides. Ask them to step forward and give you messages and signs. This can be done sitting somewhere quiet or out in nature.
- Our Spirit Guides once we connect with them will show us that they are always around. One way to connect is to ask for a specific sign. I do this regularly when I'm asking if I'm on the right path with something. I ask to be shown a specific picture or symbol to let me know I'm on track. You can choose any symbol or picture that resonates with you for this connection exercise.
So as we head into the winter months, embrace the darkness. Embrace YOUR darkness and use it to help you get more connected by working with your Spirit Guides.
As Pink says in her new song What About Us- “We are search lights. We can see in the dark. We are rockets pointing up at the stars”
